It is part of the islands’ crackdown on boozy holidays.
Tourists have been warned that alcohol consumption in all-inclusive hotels in parts of the Balearic Islands in Spain is now capped.
As part of the rules – which apply to Magaluf and Playa de Palma in Majorca and Sant Antoni de Portmany in Ibiza – guests are limited to drinking during mealtimes.
They are also only allowed up to six drinks a day, made up of three at lunch and three at dinner.
On top of this, alcohol is not available to purchase in stores between 9.30pm and 8am.
Before the pandemic in 2020, the Balearic Islands Government passed the laws as part of efforts to crack down on boozy holidays.
As part of the rules, happy hours and pub crawls are also banned in the popular tourist destinations.

Now, ahead of the 2022 summer season, travel agency Thomas Cook issued a statement in which it explained the new rules to travelers.
“The rules state that alcohol consumption in all-inclusive hotels in Magaluf, Playa de Palma and Sant Antoni is limited to a specific number of drinks during mealtimes and alcohol will not be available to purchase in stores between 9.30pm and 8am,” it said.
“Guests are allowed up to six drinks a day – three at lunchtime and three at dinnertime.
“We’re advising customers of the rules that have been in place for two years as part of the islands’ efforts to ensure they remain as attractive to families as they do to people heading out for a fun week of partying.”
