Three Lions that could have been Boys in Green… can you name all of them?
World Cup 2022 is underway, so it’s time to check in with a quiz, one that unites the Republic of Ireland and Gareth Southgate’s mighty Three Lions… well, kind of.
As per the announced England squad for the FIFA World Cup, there are nine registered footballers who were eligible to line out instead for the Republic of Ireland. Their loss, am I right?
Below you will find positions – and we’re using England’s official definition here, so you may well regard a ‘forward’ as a ‘midfielder’ yourself but this is what the FA has gone with – and all you need to do is name the current England footballer who opted not to wear a green shirt.
