Pens at the ready to jot down these Christmas titles.
December is here and that means we can all officially start being festive without being shamed for it.
One of the best parts of this time of the year is sitting down with a steaming cup of hot chocolate, getting cosy and pressing play on a Christmas movie.
Sometimes though, it can be hard to choose which one you want to watch. I mean, there are so many to choose from.
Well, in order to make your movie nights easier, we've compiled a list of some of our favourite festive watches.
So let's dive right in!
Elf
Starring Will Ferrell, 2003’s Elf is a certified Christmas classic. It follows Buddy (Will Ferrell), an oversized Elf who makes the journey from the North Pole to New York City in order to meet his biological father, Walter Hobbs (James Caan). Once he meets his dad, Buddy discovers he’s sorely lacking in any Christmas spirit.
Directed by Jon Favreau, this Christmas film is bursting with charm and is a must-watch during the festive season.
Christmas With The Kranks
Christmas With The Kranks follows two empty nesters as they decide to forgo a traditional Christmas for a Caribbean cruise after their daughter tells them she won't be home for the holidays.
This causes the local community to view them as pariahs because of their decision to opt out of the festivities.
Chaos ensues when news reaches them on Christmas Eve that their daughter reveals she's en route home with her fiancé.
Starring Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis, Christmas With The Kranks gets somewhat ridiculous but is full of humour.
It's A Wonderful Life
You can’t get more of a Christmas classic than It's A Wonderful Life.
This timeless watch from 1946, follows frustrated businessman James Stewart as an angel is sent from Heaven to help him understand both the value and importance of his own life as he contemplates suicide.
Many have coined it as one of the greatest films of all time and it has been recognised by the American Film Institute as one of the 100 best American films ever made.
If you're looking for a moving watch with meaningful messaging and gorgeous cinematography, Frank Capra It's A Wonderful Life is for you!
Arthur Christmas
If you're looking for something to keep the little ones entertained, Arthur Christmas is the perfect movie to press play on.
This animated film follows Santa's accident-prone son Arthur, who steps in to deliver a present to the one child Father Christmas accidentally overlooked on his Christmas Eve trip.
Voiced by James McAvoy, Arthur is full of heart and bursting with Christmas spirit. While it may be intended for kids, this humour-filled film is sure to get the whole family feeling festive.
Love Actually
Richard Curtis’s Love Actually is a staple in the Christmas watchlist of many, and for good reason.
Set in London, it follows the lives of eight very different couples – who are all somewhat interwoven - as they deal with their turbulent love lives during the month of December.
Love Actually provides a realistic look at the complexities of relationships of all kinds while unpacking the various different ways in which people can love.
With a stellar cast including the likes of Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Colin Firth, Keira Knightley and Alan Rickman, to name a few, Love Actually is an incredibly heartwarming watch and guaranteed to steal your heart.
All of these titles and more are available to stream with a NOW membership.
