The most convenient financial management app in the world is even handier than you think.

Considering it’s been on the go for five years and that over 10 million people around the world use it on a regular basis, it would be reasonable to assume that there is little more to know about Revolut.

Every day is a school day, however and when it comes to Revolut, that’s especially true in the case of Revolut Business, which was launched in July 2017 across the UK and Europe and now has over 300,000 customers worldwide.

The service is as handy for businesses as the regular app is for day-to-day Revolut users, allowing companies to sign up for multi-currency accounts in minutes, transfer money cheaply and easily and issue employees with corporate cards for global fee-free spending.

The chief principle of Revolut Business is to save business owners time and money and to offer them convenience, transparency and security through a frictionless and fast user set-up and connected tools which gives users ultimate control over their business.

Here are just five of the handy features of Revolut Business to facilitate that control that you may not have known about before now; you can sign up to Revolut Business right here.

Expense management

Forget about having to manage a bundle of physical receipts at the end of every month, those days are a thing of the past.

Revolut Business users can issue an unlimited number of physical and virtual multi-currency corporate cards that be added to Apple Pay and set monthly spending limits per card to easily manage employee expenses.

Receipts with descriptions can be viewed in real-time via the mobile Revolut app, while transactions can be exported or integrated with accounting tools such as Xero and Free Agent.

Which brings us nicely on to…

Xero and FreeAgent integration

As of December 2018, the most highly-requested feature for Revolut Business – Xero Integration, has been available to users of the service.

Integration of a cloud-based accounting platform might not sound like the most exciting thing in the world, but boy is it convenient.

Integration with Xero offers Revolut Business users full automation between the two platforms, (no need to manually import and export statements), better statements and accurate financial information that allows you to track your business’ financial health at any time.

Better yet, like most features in Revolut, it can be set up and fully functioning in a matter of seconds.

Free Agent, meanwhile, is the UK’s most popular accounting software and has been available to users of Revolut Business since May 2018.

In a nutshell, it allows business owners to take a lot of hassle out of their accounting processes, allowing them to stay on top of their cashflow at all times.

Users can sync as many of their accounts with Free Agent as they wish and those accounts will automatically post transactions to Free Agent every 4-6 hours and prevent annoying duplicate transactions.

Bulk payments

Why make a mountain out of a molehill trying to process a whole host of invoices and payroll outgoings when you make multiple payments all at once with a single press of a button?

Revolut Business allows users to make up to 1,000 payments to employees and/or partners at once with details on payments overview, schedule and status information all included in the one place.

Payment approval

Let’s not beat about the bush, this isn’t the most exciting of features in Revolut Business, but as far as security and transparency are concerned, it has the comforting effect of wrapping yourself up in a warm blanket when the rain is pounding the window outside.

Simply put, payment approval allows Revolut Business users to set rules on the transfer of funds, according to the roles they’ve set within their own team.

To illustrate using the example below, payments greater than €1,000 (or another limit as set by the business owner) must be approved by one person(s) with the following role(s): Owner or Senior Accountant.

More control over a company’s finances means no frantically trying to plug gaps in the accounts come the end of the month and a greater peace of mind for all concerned.

Top perks

Nothing like the mention of the word ‘perk’ to make people’s ears prick up and the ones available to Revolut Business users are not too shabby at all.

Businesses that sign up to Revolut Business are able to take advantage of more than €2,000 worth of discounts and benefits from partners such as Amazon, Apple, Slack and Deliveroo for Business (did someone say office pizzas?).
