‘I’d like to report a crime’.
The cast of Mrs Brown’s Boys were among the winners at the National Television Awards, taking home the award for Best Comedy on the night.
However, some of their competitors were not too pleased, particularly British comedian Kiell Smith-Bynoe.
Smith-Bynoe, who stars as Mike in beloved British sitcom Ghosts, made his feelings known as the camera panned to him as Brendan O’Carroll took to the stage to accept the award.
Ghosts aired its final season last year to critical acclaim, but did not manage to win out against the long-running Irish sitcom.

Mrs Brown’s Boys award win sparks fury from rival star at ceremony
When the camera fixed on Smith-Bynoe, he immediately scrunched up his face in anger, clearly not happy with the result.
Last month, the 35-year-old, who also appeared on Taskmaster, tweeted: ‘Don’t let Mrs Browns Boys beat us again.’
The comedian also tweeted after the awards ceremony a gif saying ‘I’d like to report a crime’.
Some across social media were in agreement with the award, with one saying: “Kiell Smith- Bynoe speaks for us all with Mrs Brown beating Ghosts at the NTA.”
Another added: “‘That was my reaction at home”.
Some questioned whether Smith-Bynoe’s reaction was actually genuine, with one commenting: “Can’t tell if Kiell Smith-Bynoe was doing his ‘angry’/belligerent act like he did on Taskmaster or was genuinely fuming at Mrs Brown’s Boys win!”

This is the fourth win for the Mrs Brown’s Boys at the NTAs, having previously won Best Comedy in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
Not everyone was against the Irish show winning the award, with fans showing support on Twitter/X.
“Well deserved for a great show. I can’t wait for it to return,” one commented.
Another added: “I voted all the way from the land down under. You guys make me laugh over and over, and thank you for making the world laugh right along with me. You all deserve this award so much. Congratulations.”
