Anyone can have butter, marmalade, jam or chocolate spread on their toast, but how about a chocolate spread? Yes, we were as surprised as you are.
According to The Metro, Birra Spalmabile is now available to order online and claims to be “an ingenious collaboration between an Italian chocolate maker and beer-perfumed jelly with an intense scent and full-bodied taste”. Ingenious may not be everyone’s description, but novel it certainly is.
Retailing for £7.99 at Selfridges – don’t worry, international delivery is catered for – we have to assume the alcohol content is sufficiently low that it would take an extreme level of consumption before one would be in danger of being over the limit behind the wheel.
