Dublin running trail named one of the best in the entire world

Rory Cashin

One of the best in the world, right on your (relative) doorstep.

Sure it is all kicking off in Howth, isn’t it?

A month ago, a restaurant there was named the best seafood restaurant in the entire world, and now the small Dublin village has just garnered another prestigious title.

Travel bible Lonely Planet have a new book out titled Epic Runs Of The World (available to buy right here), which lists the 50 greatest running routes from around the globe, featuring spots ranging from the North Pole, to the African plains, to a running track right alongside the Great Wall Of China.

Ranked alongside those epic locations is the 12km looped run around Howth Head, and as we’ve mentioned before, anyone who has ever visited the area will know that the natural beauty of the surroundings is obvioiusly one of the main reasons why the trail was listed.

So really, it sounds like the only thing to do is go to Howth, do the run, and then treat yourself with a trip to that seafood restaurant.

The definition of a win-win right there.
