I’m one full week into my giant set routine and new diet change. It’s mentally and physically taking its toll on me now, with heavy sessions in the gym and not much in the way of treats to reward myself (and by treats I mean, apples, peanut butter or my cheat meal on a Sunday).
In the past two to three days however, there have been some noticeable changes in my body. The belly is FINALLY shrinking, my shoulders are developing nicely and my arms have really come on well.
Dan has started training for his competition now, which is about three to four months away, so he now trains with me almost every day I’m at the gym. Mentally it’s a great boost to have him there.
It was the same when I was out training for runs. Training on your own can be tough, you’re always fighting a mental battle with yourself, where as when you have a training partner, they remove any of those doubts and help push you that bit extra.
A somewhat relaxing weekend is coming up. No gym but I do still have to stick to my diet.
