JOE v Her: The battle lines are being drawn ahead of the Virgin Media Night Run on April 23

JOE

This is war.

“Let’s enter a JOE and Her team and see who wins,” they said. “It’ll be fun,” they said. It all started out as a bit of friendly banter ahead of the Virgin Media Night Run on April 23.

We’re not saying that things are now strained in the office but one member of the JOE team was *accidentally* elbowed in the face while walking down the corridor this morning.

Not cool, ladies. Not cool.

For our part, the JOE team have started reading Sun Tzu’s “The Art of War” and listening to the Rocky soundtrack on repeat.

And we’re going to start training any day now…

Of course, that’s not to discourage your office from doing something similar for this amazing event. Go for a girls v boys theme in your own office, get a battle of the housemates going, or challenge your brother/sister/elderly relative. A bit of competition always makes these things more exciting!

The Virgin Media Night Run is always a great night’s craic and the organisers expect around 8000 people to take to the streets of Dublin this year. Part of Dublin City Centre will be closed down and the atmosphere is incredible.

Everyone who takes part gets a race pack that includes food, drink and a training top. Not to mention the chance to achieve a personal goal by running a 10k race.

That’s about the only thing we can reveal on JOE’s race plans.

As Sun Tzu said, “Let your plans be dark and impenetrable as night, and when you move, fall like a thunderbolt.”

But in all seriousness, we’d like to wish our colleagues in the Her team the very best of luck. And we’re being 100% sincere. Genuinely.

This year’s race will start off at 9pm on Sunday, 23 April. For more information or to register for the Virgin Media Night Run, check out their website
