Take note if you are a fan of the energy drink.
The Food Safety of Authority (FSAI) has recalled four different types of Monster Energy drinks, as they contain too much propylene glycol.
The flavours included in the recall are Ripper Juice Monster Energy, Lewis Hamilton Monster Energy, Espresso Monster Vanilla Triple Shot, Espresso Monster Salted Caramel Triple Shot.
All batches and all best before dates are included in the recall.
Propylene glycol is a sweet synthetic food additive that “belongs to the same chemical class as alcohol”.
However, the implicated drinks are not expected to cause any harmful effects.
