There are few things worse than a cold shower, standing naked and alone under a freezing stream of water and cursing your housemate for using the last of the hot water.
We’ve all been there, victims of the cold water dance, carefully subjecting only one limb at a time to those icy bullets of pain.
While you could try beating your scabby housemate to the bathroom in the morning, why give up your valuable snooze time when there’s a simple technique that can change how cold the water feels?
Created by Wim Hof, otherwise known as The Iceman, this technique has enabled him to climb Everest in just a pair of shorts, swim 120 metres under ice on a single breath and take cold showers every single day.

His method focuses on controlling your inner thermostat and creating a fire within.
The technique takes a few minutes but we’re willing to try it if it means avoiding another round of, ahem, shower ballet. His technique explained:
We’re not sure about swimming in ice lakes and scaling Everest in the nip but we’re definitely trying this next time the immersion acts up.
