Primark have issued a recall for some of their popular summer items. They’re recalling three types of men’s flip flops after tests proved they contained dangerous chemicals.
The flip flops in question are from the Ceder Wood State range and come in black, blue and khaki.
Their product numbers are:
Khaki – 02387/07, 08, 09
Black – 02387/01, 02, 03
Blue – 02387/04, 05, 06
They have issued the following statement about the recall.
“It has come to our attention that the footwear product detailed above does not meet the Primark usual high standards for chemical compliance. We have found levels of a restricted substance in the product in excess of the 1.0 mg/kg requirement.
“With the safety of our customers and respect for the environment at the forefront of our minds we have taken the decision to recall this product and are therefore inviting you to return this item for a full refund.”
The flip flops in question were on sale in stores from the beginning of January until 2 June, 2017.
If anyone has bought any of the affected flip flops they are advised to bring them back to their nearest store for a full refund, even if you no longer have a receipt.
A statement from Primark on the matter read as follows: “We take the safety of our customers, and the quality of our products, very seriously, which is why we have chosen to recall four men’s flip flops from our Cedar Wood State range. All new orders with this factory have been suspended while we carry out a thorough investigation.
“A full refund is being offered to all customers.”
