PICS: This Cork man lost nearly nine stone after he was the victim of horrible online abuse

Conor Heneghan

What an incredible transformation.

Two years ago, Paul Moore, a 26-year old Cork man currently living in Sydney, attended a festival in Melbourne. At the time, he weighed just over 20 stone.

Pictures of him enjoying himself, perched on a friend’s shoulders with his top off, were circulated online and ended up on a gym meme page, attracting nearly half a million likes and over 30,000 comments.

Many of those comments were extremely hurtful and caused Paul’s life to spiral out of control.

Speaking to JOE, Paul said that he began drinking heavily, became depressed and also started to self-harm, resulting in a number of scars all over his body.

About a year ago, Paul returned to Ireland and decided to change his life. Thanks to a new lifestyle regime, he began to lose weight and, after returning to Sydney, he joined a gym and recently weighed in at 11 stone, seven pounds.

Thankfully, he hasn’t self-harmed in well over a year and is in a very good place right now.

Fair play to Paul, he has every right to feel very proud of his achievements.

Cheers to Paul Moore for sending this our way. Got a story for JOE? Hit us up on Facebook or Twitter, send it to our WhatsApp number 087-4001102 or mail [email protected].
