Video: Man on plane jokes about having Ebola, gets escorted from the plane by a hazmat crew

Ebola is no laughing matter at the moment, unless you're this passenger…

Ebola is no laughing matter at the moment, unless you’re this passenger…

A man on an US Airways flight to the Dominican Republic made a joke about having Ebola while on the flight and we bet he did not expect to evoke such a reaction from the cabin crew and passengers.

Having reportedly been coughing and sneezing during the flight, the man allegedly said “I Have Ebola. You’re all screwed.” This remark was heard by staff who alerted the captain, according to ABC News. The flight was then grounded in Punto Cana in the Dominican Republic as a possible health risk.

The video below shows a flight attendant speaking to the people on the plane urging them to stay calm and remain in their seats, then in a scene from some kind of dystopian horror future, the hazmat team kitted out in inflatable suits with breathing apparatuses enter and take the man off the plane.

After being grounded on the tarmac for two hours, the man was thoroughly assessed by medical staff in the airport health centre and it was concluded that he was indeed joking and he didn’t have the Ebola virus. The passengers were then allowed off the plane and while they were probably relieved not to have contracted the deadly virus, we are guessing they were less than happy with the clown who caused all the needless disruption.

Watch the video below… how much do the guys coming onto the plane in the blue suits remind you of a horror film?
