Are you up for a challenge this weekend?

Well, we have the perfect workout for you from Dublin star Philly McMahon. Wellfest, in association with KBC, have organised a 30-day WellGood challenge in the run-up to this year’s festival on the 12 and 13 May.

The WellGood challenge will see tasks being assigned by performance psychologist Gerry Hussey, Dublin GAA star Philly McMahon and best-selling cookery author Roz Purcell. Philly will be offering fitness advice to anyone who signs up to the 30-day programme.

Day 18 Challenge: Try Philly McMahon’s Devil’s Workout this weekend

As the name suggests, this is an intensive workout but you’ll definitely feel the benefits of doing it. In the video, Philly takes you through six reps of six exercises in six minutes. It may not look like much but it’ll definitely test you.

The challenge takes in the likes of walkouts, squat jumps, lunge jumps, burpies, push-ups and tuck jumps. Remember that it’s six repetitions of each. No cheating, now!

You can check out Philly’s other challenges here.

There are two more weeks of the 30-day challenge remaining so there is still time to get involved. Everyone who signs up to the WellGood challenge will automatically get updates on the challenges as well as free tips on recipes, mindset, exercise and more.

So what’s in store for the final weeks?

Next week’s challenges include making Roz and Philly’s post-workout meal, watching Philly’s technique masterclass video and a daily plan to improve your mindfulness from Gerry. Participants will also catch Roz’s talk on her favourite healthy snacks, watch Philly’s video on recovery tips with a foam roller, and take on the challenge of a “no phone” rule in the bedroom to improve your wellness.

For the final week, the challenges include Philly’s “Complex Workout” challenge, watching Gerry’s “Brain Fuel” video and making a breakfast recipe by Roz. You’ll also be tasked with watching Gerry’s “900 months performance of a lifetime” talk, making Roz’s breakfast bars for a colleague and listening to Gerry’s guided meditation podcast.

You can sign up for the WellGood 30-Day Challenge here. Wellfest, in association with KBC, is Ireland’s largest health, fitness and wellness festival and it takes place on 12-13 May. Share your journey using #WellGood on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for a chance to win free tickets to WellFest 2018.
