Chelsea youngster Romelu Lukaku could be heading to Qatari-rich Malga on loan in the January transfer window - just months after joining the Blues in an £18m deal.
The Belgian striker, viewed in some circles as the 'new Didier Drogba' due to his physical and playing style similarities to the Ivorian, has made just five appearences for Chelsea since his August move and evidently the club are hoping that he can gain some much-needed experience abroad.
With Lukaku in need of a string of first-team appearences, newly-rich Malaga could offer a lifeline, according to talkSPORT. The La Liga club have made an inconsistent start to the season despite a busy summer of spending, while their key striking option is a well past his best 35-year-old Ruud van Nistelrooy.
A move for the Belgian looks extremely likely for the January transfer window, as Chelsea previously tried to send Lukaku off to Stoke City on loan before the summer transfer window slammed shut.
The Blues were clearly unaware that they could not allow a player to move twice during one transfer window and Stoke instead settled on signing Peter Crouch. £12m and two goals later, we wouldn't be surprised if Stoke came back looking for a loan replacement for their gangly flop.
