A mass brawl broke out after a top of the table grudge match between home side Al Masry and Al Ahly, following which the pitch was invaded by hundreds of home fans.
Violence broke out between supporters, security staff and some Al Ahly players and members of their coaching staff as things got out of hand very, very quickly.
Bottles and stones were thrown as the situation escalated and at the time of writing, over 70 people had been reported dead as a result of the violence.
