10 of the best deals in PlayStation’s summer sale

Rory Cashin

If you’re looking for some new games to spend your hard earned cash on, then look no further!

PlayStation have announced its Summer Sale deals, which will end on Wednesday, 4 August, and you can check out the full list of games in the sale right here.

We’ve picked out ten of the best games that caught our attention, both because they’re brilliant games, and because they’ve been significantly marked down in the sale.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War

The latest entry in the hit COD franchise drops you into the middle of the action of the real-life Iran Hostage Crisis back in 1979. The story for the game was actually created by David S. Goyer, the big time Hollywood screenwriter behind The Dark Knight, Man of Steel and Terminator: Dark Fate.

€69.99 marked down to €34.99.

Demon’s Souls

Literally one of the most difficult games of all time got a PS5 glow-up. With the snazzy updated visuals and sound design, it launched alongside the PS5 and remains one of the new console’s must-own titles.

€79.99 marked down to €59.99.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout

The game that got so many people through lockdown, because it was the closest to interactions with friends (and strangers) we’d be having for a while! A big colourful, cartoon-ish game show along the lines of Gladiator, it is highly addictive, and very, VERY entertaining.

€19.99 marked down to €11.99.

FIFA 21

You either already own this, or you were holding out for FIFA 22 (arriving in October), but maybe this drastically reduced price will change your mind…

€69.99 marked down to €14.69.

Hitman III

We have this on our Top 5 Games of 2021 so far list, as there is very little in life more fun than playing as an inventive assassin, always looking for new ways to take out your target. Why just use a long-range sniper rifle when you can walk right up to them and poison their favourite cocktail?

€69.99 marked down to €34.99.

It Takes Two

An even higher entry on that Top 5 list, it has been a long time since a local multiplayer felt as good as this! You and your nearby pal have to survive a setting that is essentially identical to Honey, I Shrunk The Kids, but thanks to the massive originality all the way through it, you’ll never get bored of playing it.

€39.99 marked down to €29.99.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales

The spin-off to the massively successful Spider-Man game from 2018, you control New York’s newest friendly neighbourhood superhero, in a plot that is arguably even better than the original’s. Sure, it isn’t nearly as long, but that is to be expected from a spin-off. Plus, it is an absolutely gorgeous recreation of New York at Christmas time.

€59.99 marked down to €44.99.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition

All three of the brilliant Mass Effect games got a next-gen graphical overhaul for this year’s Legendary Edition re-release. So this is either the perfect starting point for those who’ve never played them before, or a brilliant re-introduction to one of gaming’s best ever trilogies.

€69.99 marked down to €54.59.

Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate

Probably the best game to stick on if you’ve got friends over. The violence is as present and correct as ever, the list of characters hugely impressive (and constantly expanding!), and even in solo player mode, you’ll be watching a full-length movie in the cut scenes between the big fights.

€59.99 marked down to €29.99.

Returnal

As we mentioned in our review earlier this year, Returnal is either the best game or the worst game of 2021, depending on what type of gamer you are. A frantic, creepy sci-fi shooter, you’ll know from the trailer if this is right up your street, or something you’ll want to actively avoid.

€79.99 marked down to €59.99.
