Here comes a new challenger… for all your money!

Recent years have seen retro consoles hitting the market, with the likes of the mini Super Nintendo two years ago, the Sega Mega Drive Classic Collection getting its own release, while we described playing the PlayStation Classic as “a bit like going on a date with an ex”.

Well, now Capcom – the folks behind some of the biggest and most popular arcade games of all time – are going one step further, by releasing an old school arcade joystick set-up, with 16 games preloaded.

The Capcom Home Arcade will connect to your TV via HDMI and is powered by a USB setup.

However, unlike other mini-consoles, it can connect to Wi-Fi, and Capcom says the feature will be used primarily for global online leaderboards.

Additionally, there will be a dual control setup, which should offer an arcade-style, side-by-side competitive experience, complete with huge buttons for the button-mashing and the joystick to shake like mad when you think you’re losing.

The games themselves are as follows: 1944 The Loop Master, Alien vs. Predator, Armored Warriors, Capcom Sports Club, Captain Commando, Cyberbots, Darkstalkers, Eco Fighters, Final Fight, Ghouls ‘n Ghosts, Gigawing, Mega Man The Power Battle, Progear, Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting, Strider, and Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo.

Yep, pretty much all of the greatest having-friends-over-for-a-few-rounds series of games since Guitar Hero!

The Capcom Home Arcade is set to be release on Friday 25 October, and will cost you €229.99.

You can pre-order it right here, right now.
