First look at Outriders, one of the first confirmed titles on PS5 and Xbox Series X

The teams behind Gears Of War and Tomb Raider have combined forces for this one.

To date, we still don’t know a huge amount about what we’ll be actually be playing on our PlayStation 5 and/or Xbox Series X when they arrive this Christmas.

We’ve seen the first trailer for looter-slasher Godfall, while Watchdogs: Legion, Gods & Monsters and Rainbox Six: Quarantine will all be released on PS4/Xbox One before the launch of the new consoles, and The Lord Of The Rings: Gollum likely won’t arrive until early 2021.

We also haven’t seen a huge amount of footage from most of them but now we have our first look at a proper full-length reveal trailer for Outriders, which has just confirmed itself as arriving on the new generation of consoles this Christmas.

The epic fantasy RPG definitely has vibes of Anthem to it but the combination of developers People Can Fly (Gears Of War, Bulletstorm) and publishers Square Enix (Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy) means that this is about as triple-A a release as you can get.

Outriders will also be released on PS4, Xbox One and PC, which will help ease us into that “soft transition” as Sony’s Mark Cerny put it, meaning that the new consoles (or specifically the PS5, at least for now) will still be able to play the games from your PS4.

Either way, get a look at the new shooter below and add it to your list for Santa alongside whatever console you’re asking for next Christmas.
