According to the data, we aren’t ones for playing fair and square.

Ireland is one of the biggest video game cheaters in the world, according to a new study.

By analysing Google search volume data, price comparison service Uswitch calculated how many people were actively seeking cheats and cheat codes for specific games in every country around the world.

The search volumes were then adjusted to account for each country’s population.

Out of the top 50 countries listed by Uswitch, Ireland ranked 12th – with Russia taking the top spot, followed by Italy and Israel.

Rounding out the top five was Japan and Sweden, while the United Kingdom ranked 16th.

According to the research, gamers in Ireland are the most likely to cheat at Little Big Planet, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Sonic The Hedgehog.

The data was compiled through Google AdWords from April 2020 to March 2021.
