The free subscription games coming to PlayStation and Xbox in May

If you've got the subscriptions, here are the new additions coming to play on your PS5, Xbox Series X, PS4 and Xbox One.

Both PlayStation and Xbox have announced the additions to their gaming subscription services for the month of May, with some taking effect from the first week of the month, and others spread out across the rest of it.


So if you've signed up for PS Plus and/or the Games With Gold subscriptions on your consoles, these are the new additions you can put into your library throughout May.


Available to add to your library from Tuesday, 3 May to Monday, 6 June:

FIFA 22 (PS5/PS4)

Tribes of Midgard (PS5/PS4)

Official synopsis: "Tribes of Midgard blends survival and ARPG genres into a colourful co-op or solo experience set within the universe of Norse mythology. As an Einherjar, returned to life by Odin himself, you and your tribe of up to 10 players will need to defend the Seed of Yggdrasil from evil forces set on bringing about Ragnarök. Curse of the Dead Gods (PS4)

Official synopsis: "In this skill-based, single player rogue-like, explore an accursed temple, a seemingly-infinite labyrinth of bottomless pits, deadly traps, and monsters. Yoku's Island Express (available from 1-31 May)


Official synopsis: "All Yoku wants to do is soak up the rays delivering parcels in his new job in a tropical paradise. But first he must traverse the island helping others and try to waken an ancient deity trapped in a restless sleep. Explore the colourful open world of Mokumana, test your pinball skills, and earn wild new power-ups to help the friendly locals."

The Inner World: The Last Wind Monk (16 May - 15 June)

Official synopsis: "Embark on an adventure thru Asposia to find the last wind monk and fulfil Robert’s destiny as the heir to the flute nose throne. Switch seamlessly between playing as Robert, Laura, the rebel who flies off the handle, or Peck, the pigeon who doesn’t fly at all. Hydro Thunder Hurricane (1-15 May)


Official synopsis: "Speed through eleven mysterious race environments like Monster Island and the Bermuda Triangle, each one packed with massive jumps, drop-offs, secret shortcuts and destructible objects. Unleash aqua anarchy as you try out various modes and compete to be the first to cross the finish line."

Viva Piñata Party Animals (16-31 May)

Official synopsis: "Get ready for lots of fun for everyone! Compete as Hudson Horstachio, Franklin Fizzlybear, and others across over 40 mini-games mixed with race events. Combine your wins and bonuses to get the most candy and be crowned the victor."
