Nintendo is bringing back some classic N64 and Sega Mega Drive games

Great news for fans of some amazing classic games.

Nintendo held a special announcement on Thursday evening, filled with news and reveals of what players can expect in the coming weeks, months and years.

Part of the September Nintendo Direct announcement was the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Plan will arrive in October.

The new membership plan is being added to Nintendo Switch Online and it will include an N64 collection, similar to what we saw with the NES & SNES collections previously.

Additionally, a Sega Mega Drive collection [or the Sega Genesis collection, as it is known elsewhere in the world] will be added as well. Wireless N64 and Sega Genesis controllers will also be available for purchase, priced at €49.99.

The new membership plan launches later October 2021, but no pricing has been announced. Check out the update announcement right here:

The N64 games that will be available upon the launch of Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Plan include:

  • Super Mario 64
  • Mario Kart 64
  • Star Fox 64
  • Yoshi’s Story
  • The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
  • WinBack: Covert Operations
  • Dr. Mario 64
  • Sin and Punishment
  • Mario Tennis 64

And the Mega Drive titles available at launch will include:

  • Castlevania: Bloodlines
  • Contra: Hard Corps
  • Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine
  • Ecco the Dolphin
  • Golden Axe
  • Gunstar Heroes
  • Phantasy Star IV
  • Ristar
  • Shining Force
  • Sonic the Hedgehog 2
  • Streets of Rage 2
  • M.U.S.H.A
  • Phantasy Star 4
  • Shinobi 3
  • Strider

More games are already lined up for release in the coming months, including Banjo-Kazooie, Pokemon Snap, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, Mario Golf, Paper Mario, and F-Zero X.
