The new trailer also reveals a brand new character who is handy with a guitar in a fight…

25 years ago, Streets Of Rage was released on the Sega Mega Drive, and has been ranked among the best games ever to grace the console.

With retro gaming all the “Rage” right now (including the impending release of the Sega Mega Drive Mini), what was old is new again, and so it is with Streets Of Rage 4.

The game has released a new trailer to celebrate Paris Gamescon, at it shows off brand new character Cherry Hunter, daughter of Adam Hunter, one of the heroes of the very first Streets Of Rage game. However, she didn’t follow in her father’s footsteps to become a cop, instead playing guitar for an electro-rock band.

But when (insert whatever the plot is to Streets Of Rage 4 here), Cherry Hunter takes to the streets, guitar in hand, which she then proceeds to whack off the heads of anyone foolish enough to get in here way.

The new trailer also reveals that the long-awaited sequel will be arriving on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch, and that it looks like A LOT of fun.

What it doesn’t reveal is when exactly the game will be coming out, but we’re guessing it will be just in time to become a much-sought-after Christmas present in a few months time…
