Japan is not actually a country full of weirdos, although you might get that impression when you consider their odd inventions. Here's their latest - the Face Slimmer.
Although the Land of the Rising Sun could just as easily be renamed the land of the male pregnancy simulator/dating simulator video game/porn re-enactments of train molestation, nothing could have prepared us for the tremendously odd sight of the 'Face Slimmer'.
First revealed to us via Oddity Central, the low-tech invention is actually designed to be an anti-aging mouthpiece, though it's only effective in our minds for making its user resemble a sex doll. Take a look below:

Yes, this is actually a real thing...
For the princely sum of the equivalent of around €63, Face Slimmer enthusiasts place the invention inside the mouth and open wide. With the Face Slimmer's help, the user then utters vowel-based sounds, all with the intention of strengthened their cheek muscles.
According to the device's description on Japan Trend Shop, the silicone rubber Face Slimmer will "fight wrinkles around your eyes and help shape the overall look of your face, whether in front of the mirror, in the bath or at any other convenient time every day."
"The movements are given extra load by the mould, forcing everything to work a bit harder and resulting in more youthful, vibrant faces."
