Edgar Wright, director of Baby Driver & Shaun Of The Dead, revealed his favourite Father Ted episode & it’s a really great one

Rory Cashin

It isn’t every day you get to write and direct a movie that everyone loves, so Edgar Wright should be very happy right about now…

Currently sitting pretty with 98% on Rotten Tomatoes, Baby Driver is destined to end up in Best Of 2017 lists come December, and we were lucky enough to chat to the writer/director of the soon-to-be cult-classic.

With the movie in Irish cinemas right now, everything from his favourite episode of Father Ted to which Irish actors he’d love to work with came up, and we wanted to find out how difficult or easy it is to actually make a film cool… especially when you’ve got Jon Hamm’s face to play with.

Having already given us the likes of Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz, The World’s End and Scott Pilgrim V The World, it is very clear that Edgar Wright knows cinema inside and out (not to mention TV, as anyone who has seen the wonderful Spaced can attest to), so we had to ask him which of his idols is he looking forward to seeing his new car-chase musical.

Plus, now that he must have half of Hollywood on his speed-dial, if he could go back to his younger self to show off his most famous friends, who would he name-check.

All of this, and we’re already looking forward to the Baby Driver sequels, “Boy Racer” and “Man Wheels”.

Enjoy…

Here’s the toe-tappingly good trailer to get you in the mood…
