There’s always one.
The line up for the new season of Love Island is here and along with it comes the news that one soon to be islander has a famous mum. Molly Marsh is set to appear on the upcoming 10th season of Love Island and she isn’t the only well known person in her family.
Marsh’s mum Janet appeared on Coronation Street, returning to the series at various times in the 2000s.
Janet appeared in Weatherfield on three different occasions, playing three different medical roles. She first joined the soap in 2005 as a nurse before she played a receptionist at the Scott-Roe Clinic in March 2008. She then returned in 2009 as an Intensive Therapy Unit [ITU] nurse. Speaking about heading on the show, the 24-year-old told ITV:
“I think it’s ideal timing and the perfect way to find someone.
“I don’t go out and party and I don’t use dating apps, I’m actually quite old-fashioned, so there’s no better way to meet someone than by going into a Villa in the sun with the potential ‘one’ in there.
“With my job being in social media, I’ve had some amazing opportunities to go on press trips and I’ve actually been out to the Love Island Villas in Mallorca and South Africa.”
Molly Marsh was invited guest to South African villa
A source revealed to The Sun that Molly Marsh was originally scouted after she visited the South African villa earlier this year.
“She was on the tour as an invited guest when she caught the eyes of producers. Molly made it clear she would love to be a part of Love Island, and she was told to audition,” they said.
Love Island returns to our screens at 9pm on Monday, June 5th on Virgin Media One and Virgin Media Player.
