It’s been 30 years since that opening scene in Reservoir Dogs and those on the flip side of the Atlantic are still kicking off about tipping…
This time, it’s all about an automatic gratuity charge which had been unexpectedly added to one furious woman’s bill at a restaurant.
The incident was caught on camera and shared on social media where it racked up millions upon millions of views on TikTok alone.
The clip opens with a customer in the Sugar Factory looking angrily at her receipt and saying: “What the f*** is gratuity and why is it $44?”

Should tipping be mandatory?
One employee laughs at the woman’s question as she isn’t pronouncing it correctly before another explains: “It’s the tip.”
But the woman’s still not happy, asking if they really just add tips without letting customers know first.
The woman says: “Y’all just putting that s*** on there?” and the worker responds, “yeah.”
She then folds up the receipt and says, ‘all right,’ as the short clip comes to an end.
TikTok users were divided by the reaction to the automatic charge.
One person wrote: “Her reaction alone is exactly why gratuity is added.”
Another said: “Lmao this video is the exact reason why gratuity should be added automatically.”
Others however blamed the restaurant with one writing: “Funny they be adding that gratuity and still have the nerve to be asking for more tip.”
Who do you think is in the right?
