Now it’s time for the icing on the cake. Like most countries, Brazil have a few signature desserts to call their own and few are more popular throughout the land than the Brigadeiro. The name even sounds great; how could the prospect of having a Brigadeiro fail to cheer anyone up? It’s easy to make too. Mix together some condensed milk with some cocoa powder, stick it in the oven or the microwave for a while, then add some butter and roll into separate balls to be placed into special paper holders, sort of like the Brazilian equivalent of a chocolate Rice Krispie bun. Just like chocolate Rice Krispie buns, they go down a treat at parties and are particularly popular at children’s parties but as we can’t think of any party we have to go to in the near future, we think we’re going to start mixing our own batch now so they’ll be ready in time for our daily post-dinner cup of tea.
