Manchester United managed to claw their way back from two goals down to take a point away from Villa Park today.

Aston Villa grabbed a deserved lead through Ashley Young’s penalty on 72 minutes after he was bundled to the ground by Wes Brown.

Marc Albrighton made it two nil when he slotted home from close range four minutes later.

Gerard Houllier’s side looked to be coasting and should have been further ahead as Jame Collins and Gabriel Agbonlahor hit the woodwork prior to the goals in the second half.

Federico Macheda made an instant impact after he was brought on by Alex Ferguson and thundered United’s first goal to the back of the net with nine minutes remaining.

The equaliser came shortly after when Nemanja Vidic headed a Nani cross past Brad Friedel.
