A lacklustre performance from Ireland was enough to overcome Samoa by 10 points in the second November Test at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday.
Ronan O’Gara contributed 15 of Ireland’s 20 points with two penalites, one try and two conversions, while the only other score from a player in Green came from Jamie Heaslip - a first half try.
Ireland led by a mere six points at the break as Samoa held their own through a try from Alesana Tuilagi which was converted by Tasesa Lavea.
Ireland thought they had their third try of the game entering the final ten minutes but the video referee concluded Cian Healy had not touched down.
