Manchester United still hopeful of landing Bayern Munich star

Manchester United are still hopeful of bringing Bayern Munich star Bastian Schweinsteiger to Old Trafford, as the midfielder has not yet made a decision on his future.

The midfielder, who is out of contract in June 2012 with the German champions, is believed to be close to making a decision.

"My goal is to win the Champions League and I've always said that I can do that at other clubs," Schweinsteiger told German television channel Sport1.

"Yes, I am leaning towards a decision (about my future),” the 26-year-old added.

"Bayern's footballing skills have developed greatly in the last year, which was nice to see."
