Pick of the day: The Office: An American Workplace, Comedy Central, 10 pm

When it was announced originally that Ricky Gervais's classic series The Office was being remade for an American audience, people feared the worst. A 2003 re-do of Coupling (a show only okay to begin with) was absolutely horrible, while Payne, a remake of Fawlty Towers starring John Larroquette is generally regarded as one of the worst television shows of all-time.

What a pleasant surprise The Office: An American Workplace has been then since the Steve Carrell show first aired in 2005. It is at least equal in quality to the original, and has now been running for seven seasons. Comedy Central are showing a double bill from 10 pm.

Sport Pick: Champions League: Tottenham v Werder Bremen, Sky Sports 2, 7.30 pm

The always exciting and at times inconsitent Tottenham host German team Werder Bremen, with a place in the second round of the Champions League at their fingertips. Bremen are struggling at the moment, but can still mathematically qualify for the next round also.
