Irish people in (or going to) Australia should not look at this picture of a MASSIVE spider

Nothing about the name Huntsman is terrifying at all.

When it comes to migrating, a good idea is always to weigh up the pros and cons of leaving Ireland.

Let’s use Australia as a good example. Pros: the weather is great, they have Margot Robbie and there’s no shortage when it comes to episodes of Neighbours.

Cons: massive spiders like this charming fella…

Identified as a Huntsman Spider (not a threatening name at all, no), the eight-legged critter was pictured while hanging out in the house of film and tech journalist, Marc Fennell.

Sharing it on Twitter, he wrote: ‘Every so often I just think “farrrrrk living in Australia.” When my kids asked me at 7am if we should make breakfast for the spider too. That was one of those moments.’

It was soon pointed out by a few users that the Huntsman can lay a total of 200 eggs at a time, so if there’s anything better than one giant Huntsman, it’s 200 hungry little ones following suit.

The only reassuring piece of information in all of this is that there are definitely going to be no smaller insects in the vicinity. After all, spiders will eat between 400 and 800 million metric tonnes of insects a year. There’s that…

But again despite this one reason not to kill them, let’s go through the cons again. You could find yourself living with 201 Huntsman spiders.

In short, Margot Robbie better be greeting you at Sydney Airport with a can of Harp given what we now know.
