You can start planning your time off already.

We can safely say that basically everyone is back in work by now. If you’re not, please let us know what your job is so we can hand in a CV.

We hope you enjoyed your time off over Christmas and that you’re not too upset to be back in your usual routine.

But if you are feeling a little bit down, not to worry, there are plenty more days off for you to enjoy this year, providing your job does not require you to work on public holidays, of course (to those of you who do, we are eternally grateful).

If you are looking to start planning a little holiday, or if you just can’t wait to have a day off work again, you may be interested in all of the Bank Holidays in Ireland for 2019:

  • Monday, 18 March – St Patrick’s Day (17 March falls on Sunday)
  • Friday, 19 April – Good Friday *
  • Monday, 22 April – Easter Monday
  • Monday, 6 May – May Day
  • Monday, 3 June – June Bank Holiday
  • Monday, 5 August – August Bank Holiday
  • Monday, 28 October – October Bank Holiday
  • Wednesday, 25 December – Christmas Day
  • Thursday, 26 December – St Stephen’s Day

*Good Friday is not technically a public holiday. While some schools and businesses close on that day, you have no automatic entitlement to time off work on that day.

And if you’re living in Northern Ireland, here are all of the national holidays you have to look forward to:

  • Friday, 19 April – Good Friday
  • Monday, 22 April – Easter Monday
  • Monday, 6 May – Early May Bank Holiday
  • Monday, 27 May – Spring Bank Holiday
  • Friday, 12 July – Battle of the Boyne
  • Monday, 26 August – August Bank Holiday
  • Wednesday, 25 December – Christmas Day
  • Thursday, 26 December – St Stephen’s Day

So you see, it’s not all bad. It’s no time at all until St Patrick’s Day rolls around and we’ll be able to have the craic once again for the long weekend.

Get planning it now!

Now, back to counting down the days until the weekend again. What else would you be doing on a Monday like this?
