Rory Cashin

Have you been to the Dublin restaurant he works at yet?

The 2018 Food & Wine Awards took place over the weekend, and one Dublin restaurant scooped up two of the big awards on the night.

Located at Stephen’s Green in Dublin 2, Glovers Alley by Andy McFadden won both Overall Best Chef for Andy McFadden, as well as Pastry Chef of the Year going to Aoife Noonan.

The ceremony took place at the InterContinental Hotel on Sunday 9 September, which also revealed the very best restaurant in the country, which you can read all about here.

Andy McFadden said: “I’m thrilled to have won Best Chef and very proud of Aoife Noonan for winning Pastry Chef of the Year. The Food & Wine Awards is one of Ireland’s leading restaurant competitions and to win two awards only eight months after opening the restaurant is a remarkable achievement.

“We work very hard to bring exceptional food and service to our guests and it’s fantastic to have this recognised.”

The restaurant itself opened in February 2018, when Dubliner Andy returned home to partner on it after a successful 10-year career in Michelin star restaurants in London.
