No sign of Coppers anywhere on the list, unfortunately.
Following over 600,000 votes from around the world, DJ Mag has announced the full countdown of the top 100 clubs in the world.
While there are plenty of clubs across the list to be found in Europe, including seven of the top 10, there are absolutely zero entries for any Irish clubs whatsoever.
There was a time when Ireland was overflowing with nightclubs, including Hollywood Nights, McGonagal’s, The Olympic Ballroom, Howl at the Moon, Rí-Rá, Lillie’s Bordello, Reynards, Temple Of Sound, P.O.D, The Kitchen, Red Box, GAG, Powder, Bubble, HAM, Elevator, Club 92, Fireworks, Break for the Border, The Vortex…
Don’t worry if you’re reading that list with complete confusion, because none of these nightclubs actually exist anymore.
Anyways…
Some famous clubs on the top 100 that you might have already heard of/visited include Glasgow’s Sub Club (#96), Sydney’s Laundry (#88), Amsterdam’s Shelter (#81), Montreal’s Beach Club (#56), Las Vegas’ Hakkasan (#37), London’s Ministry Of Sound (#32), Ibiza’s Pacha (#18), London’s Fabric (#13) and Berlin’s Berghain (#12).
Here is the top 10, in reverse order:
10. Papaya Club – Novalja, Croatia
9. Laroc Club – Valinhos, Brazil
8. The Warehouse Project – Manchester, U.K.
7. Amnesia – Ibiza, Spain
6. Ushuaïa – Ibiza, Spain
5. Bootshaus – Cologne, Germany
4. Printworks – London, U.K.
3. Green Valley – Balneário Camboriú, Brazil
