best takeaways

You may have eaten in some of these places…

The main reason for the inaugural Irish Takeaway Awards is to celebrate those restaurants and take aways that have provided excellent food and service to the Irish public.

Heroes, one and all.

However, like every single person that absolutely loves take away food, we’re very curious to see if there are any new dishes, restaurants, and cuisines that we’re yet to try.

On this note, 250 guests from across the island gathered to celebrate the stars of the Food to Go industry and there’s bound to be some places that you know on this list.

In the category of Fish & Chip Takeaway of the Year 2019, the winner was The Little Saltee Chipper, Kilmore Quay, Wexford.

Chandpur in Donegal was named as the Indian Takeaway of the Year while The Champion Chip Award was won by Wexford’s Mangans Traditional Fish & Chips.

As for some of the other categories, Asian Takeaway of the Year went to Miyazaki’s in Cork, Genoa Café in Warrenpoint, Down won Takeaway Team of the Year, and Burger of the Year was given to Denjoes Family Restaurant & Takeaway in Castleisland, Kerry.
