"It doesn't matter where I park they will move their car there as soon as I leave"

A Reddit user has been left completely baffled by a neighbour who appears to follow them around their apartment car park.

The resident explained that their apartment complex, where they have lived for seven years, has plenty of unassigned parking, meaning residents are never really stuck for a spot to park near their building.

However, a couple of months ago they began noticing one particular car parking unusually close to theirs.

Then the behaviour became even stranger.

The neighbour started parking directly in front of or behind their car whenever there was a space available.

And whenever the Reddit user left, the neighbour would seemingly move into the exact space they had just vacated.

The resident insists they aren't deliberately choosing particularly good parking spaces either.

"I'm not parking in the same place or in spots that are particularly desirable compared to others, it doesn't matter where I park they will move their car there as soon as I leave," they explained.

The situation became so bizarre that the resident's husband eventually witnessed it happening for himself.

The couple had been leaving separately one day, and while the husband was sitting in his car setting up his maps when he saw the neighbour come outside, move their car into the space his partner had just left and then go back inside.

Perhaps most confusingly, there doesn't appear to be any obvious reason for it.

"I'm just very confused as to what the purpose is," the Reddit user admitted.

And while the strange behaviour doesn't actually affect them due to the abundance of parking, they understandably want to know what could possibly be motivating their neighbour.

Some other users suspected the driver is trying to find a way to converse with the resident.

"I reckon he is attracted to you and in some messed up way thinks this will help him interact with you. Hard to be sure as some people are just odd," replied one user, to which another wrote: "I was reading through it and thought to myself, 'I bet OP is a woman', I agree with you. Weird man in action is my guess also."

Another user suggested: "They’re clearly odd, but regardless of their motivation I’d start alternating using your car and your husband’s car. It might help see if the fixation is with you or your car. And it might help stop their behaviour if they think there’s a chance of a man confronting them & not a woman."

Because if there are dozens of empty spaces available, why keep following the same person around the car park?

At this point, it seems the Reddit user may never get an answer.
