Can you solve this brain teaser which is given to astronauts in recruitment tests?

Alan Loughnane

It could drive you crazy…

Astronaut Tim Peake caused some confusion and debate recently when he shared a a brain teaser which was given to him when he was training to be an astronaut.

The teaser presented someone with a cube with a dot on the bottom and you’re asked to predict the location of the dot after the cube is moved in a number of directions.

The box can only be moved by rolling it left, right, forward (towards you) or backwards (away from you).

You are then asked to move the box in the following pattern: forward, left, left, forward, right, backwards, right. Then say where the dot would be positioned.

Where do you think it ends up?

Scroll down to find out.

Luckily the debate can end here, because Tim posted the answer.

Where does the dot end up?
