Have you recovered from the festive period yet?

For the majority of people, this is your first week back at work following an eventful Christmas where pints were drank, mince pies were eaten and bellies were expanded.

As it trickled past December 31 and into the new year, it became less acceptable to have a selection box and a hot whiskey for breakfast… although, the temptation is still there.

You should check out our guide to using the gym this year.

In an attempt to give their bodies and mostly their liver a break, many people are attempting to have a dry January, meaning they stay off all alcohol until February.

They also make frequent social media posts to let you know all about their journey to the first of February without touching the wobbly water. Because we care so much.

But anyone near Scraggs Alley in Carlow may find dry January very difficult…

The sign reads:

Dry January in the front bar

  • Dry gin €4
  • Dry martini €4
  • Dry white wine €4
  • Dry roasted nuts €1
  • #HappyNewYear
