Centra presents… Five of greatest combos

As the Spice Girls once advised us, when two become one good things happen.

JOE

As the Spice Girls once advised us, when two become one good things happen.

What’s better than one great thing? Two great things mashed together, that’s what.

1. Popcorn and Soy Sauce

Salty popcorn is one of the world’s great snacks. And, if you make it at home or buy it anywhere bar your local cinema, damn cheap too. Some prefer slathering the corn in butter but for a real taste sensation, get out the soy sauce and liberally sprinkle that all over. The corn will soak up the sauce, adding a real deep saltiness to the snack. It will make it a wee bit soggy too, so make sure you eat quickly.

We give an honourable mention here to throwing some Maltesers into your popcorn, but don’t ever add them AND soy sauce to the popcorn. That really doesn’t work (we’ve tried).

 2. The Avengers

What’s better than one superhero? A whole bunch of them, that’s what! Think about it for a second; a can of bug repellent would ward off Spider-Man and Ant Man with relative ease, bats hate the smell of mint (look it up) so a stick of gum would keep Batman at bay, and with enough time and air Iron Man would be reduced to a pile of rust. However, when you combine those heroes, along with the other 21 original members of The Avengers, you get one unstoppable badass army of superheroes… along with a pretty good Hollywood movie.

3. Martin O’Neill and Roy Keane

When Giovanni Trapattoni packed up his cat into his sack and headed off back to Italy, we feared for who the FAI would get in. As fans we hoped that they might be able to snaffle a big name for the job but they only went and landed two at the same time; Martin O’Neill and Roy Keane.

One would have probably put a pep in the step of the Irish fans, but both set us off dreaming of a return to the glory days. We even have a snappy name for the dynamic duo; Monkeano.

With no competitive games under their belts yet, hopes are still high that when the real stuff starts the combination of O’Neill’s experience and Keane’s drive will propel Ireland safely into Euro 2016. From there, who knows, but Irish fans haven’t been this buoyant for over a decade, so the lads are already doing their jobs.

4. Turner & Hooch

One of the greatest movie combos to ever feature on the silver screen came in the form of a tightly wound cop and a slobbery canine better known as Turner & Hooch. Hooch, who was actually a rare Dogue de Bordeaux breed of dog, was the loveable rouge that would forever cause mischief and an endless amount of enjoyment to the viewer. Turner, on the other hand, was the ultimate neat freak, but the pair played off each other brilliantly in the movie making it an instant hit, while also making Turner & Hooch one of our favourite combos of all time.

5. Centra’s Cronado

It’s here! Centra has just introduced ‘The Cronado’ – the famous donut & crossiant pastry hybrid. Now people all over Ireland can enjoy the most virally talked about baked item in history at a more affordable price. This is sure to take the country by storm, we’re already licking our lips. #centracronado
