Light House Dublin

West coast film-fans will be very happy with this news.

Ask any regular cinema-goer in Dublin, and they’ll tell you how much they love the Light House Cinema, which was named one of the coolest cinemas in the world not too long ago.

Tucked away in Smithfield, the four-screen cinema is like wandering into a modern art museum, and they show everything from the biggest blockbusters to the smallest indie releases that invariably end up winning Best Foreign Language Oscars and the likes.

The good news is that Element Pictures – not just the producers of the likes of The Lobster and The Guard, but also the operators of the Light House Cinema – have announced that they are opening another site on Merchants Road Lower in Galway, and that they are looking for specific roles to be filled before casting a wider employment net.

As per their website, they folks behind the cinema have made the following statement:

Element Pictures are delighted to announce PÁLÁS (formerly Picture Palace) is now nearing completion and will open to the public in early 2018. Designed by architect Tom de Paor, this much anticipated and truly unique venue will bring an eclectic mix of the best new Irish and international films along with classics, foreign language, animated films, shorts, documentaries, special events & festivals to a great local cinema going audience in Galway.

Additionally, they are currently looking to hire in four fields within the new cinema – General Manager, Restaurant & Bar Manager, Front of House Manager and Head Chef – and all positions are available to apply for right here.
