Last week we brought you the handy portable charger that was the Powermonkey, now this week we’ve got it’s bigger, solar powered brother. Meet the Powertraveller-eXplorer.
Last week’s energy saving device was one of the handiest we’ve featured to date. However, after all was said and done we then thought, ‘what happens when the Powermonkey dies and you’re still in dire need of power?’ If that happens then you’ll be glad you have the Powertraveller-eXplorer at hand.
The Powertraveller-eXplorer is the perfect gift for anyone who is heading away on holidays or for anyone who is off to a festival this summer. It’s also perfect for anyone who just enjoys chilling out the back garden – which we will admit is a bit of a rarity here in Ireland.
Basically, the Powertraveller-eXplorer is a mobile solar powered battery charger. It is made up of two parts: a battery pack called the ‘powermonkey’ (which we featured last week on it’s own) and a solar panel called the ‘Solarmonkey’. When the two devices join forces they become the Powertraveller-eXplorer.
You’ll never be powerless again
You can leave the Solarmonkey solar panel anywhere you see fit, once it’s in direct sunlight of course. On a sunny summer’s day you could leave it in the backseat of your car, on a window ledge or just leave it beside you if you’re out chilling in the sun’s rays.
The Powertraveller-eXplorer is light and versatile, and it has been designed for use with Apple products, but thankfully it’s also compatible with, Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, Siemens, Sony Ericsson and most other Smart phones. So everyone can use it.
The device also has a large LCD screen to display battery capacity and level of charge and it can even provide power to a digital camera, but won’t charge it.
