One of the best things about Father Ted were the amazing supporting characters.
Just about everyone has a particular favourite, from Father Todd Unctious to Eurovision host Fred Rickwood, but very few manage to match the comedic madness that came with Eoin McLove.
"Go away! I don't want to catch the menopause!" and "I have no willy!" are still uttered by fans to this day, so they should all be very happy to hear that Eoin McLove himself Patrick McDonnell is hosting a Father Ted quiz to mark the 20th anniversary of the passing of Dermot Morgan, who died on 28 February 1998.
The Mercantile and Hely’s Bar in Dublin are hosting the event, which will be followed by a screening of the most popular episode of the show (which will be voted for online), and it is all in aid of the Irish Heart Foundation.
The first date of Wednesday 28 February has already completely sold out, but tickets are still available for the second date, on Thursday 1 March.
A table of four costs just €20, with all proceeds going to the Irish Heart Foundation, and the top prize for the night is free beer for a year in The Mercantile. DRINK!
You can get your tickets from the event page here, and you can get more info on the event on the official Facebook page here.
