I'm sad to inform you all that I did not win the EuroMillions.
But maybe one of you did. While the identity of the winner is still protected, we now know that a player from Dublin who purchased an online ticket has followed up with the National Lottery to stake their claim for the, frankly, obscene amount of money.
A spokesperson for the National Lottery has said that the ticket holder contacted Lotto HQ and will now be carefully guided through the prize claims process before officially claiming their life-changing prize of over €49.5 million.
They also said: "We were absolutely delighted to hear from Ireland’s latest EuroMillions jackpot winner who now becomes the 16th EuroMillions jackpot winner in Ireland since the game was introduced in 2004. 19 people have won prizes of €1million or more in 2020.
