7 things the Irish winners of the EuroMillions jackpot should spend their money on

Where would you even start?

As you probably know by now, it’s emerged that an Irish family syndicate from Dublin won a grand total of €175,475,380 in the EuroMillions draw on Tuesday.

A family spokesperson, who is married to one of the syndicate, said: “This is unbelievable. It will take us some time to get our heads around this win and to organise ourselves.”

Unbelievable is one word for it.

But it got us thinking, what would we do if we won that amount of money?

Here’s just some of the things you could get:

584,917,933 Animal bars

The cost of Animal bars have been the subject of great controversy for a while now. The drastic increase from 25 cent to 30 cent seemed set to end civilisation as we knew it at one point, but we’ve persevered, and come out stronger on the other side.

And even with this increase in price, you would be able to afford almost 600 million of them had you won the Euromillions on Tuesday night.

2,924 Seamus Colemans

When Seamus Coleman signed for Everton, nobody could have imagined how successful he would become.

He was a talented defender playing for Sligo Rovers, but becoming one of the best right backs in the Premier League and the captain of the Republic of Ireland, having cost just €60,000, is nothing short of extraordinary.

And with the Euromillions winnings you could get almost 3,000 of him at that price, although he’d cost a little bit more in the current market, we’d wager.

You could top up your leap card for 23,396,717 days

People often have a go at the cost of public transport in this country, and this would put those complaints to bed for good.

With €7.50 being the maximum amount you can spend on a leap card in one day, this would keep you going for a hell of a long time.

23,396,717 days of a topped up leap card would mean that you wouldn’t have to pay for a bus for 64,100 years.

You’d feel pretty stupid if you lost it, though.

855,977 Electric Picnic tickets

With that amount of money, you could buy every ticket for the entire event for the next 10 years, at least.

You could raffle them off to the entire country, or just give them out for free to strangers on the street. It would be the stuff that legends are made of.

If the winners are reading this, we urge them to do it. Become the King of the Picnic. We know you want to.

43,868,845 chicken fillet rolls

An Irish institution, the perfect hangover cure, and just an all round 10/10 meal.

Assuming that toppings and sauces are included, it costs about €4 and at that price, you’d be able to afford 43,868,84 chicken fillet rolls. That should just about get you through the next silly season.

70,901,52 Euromillions tickets

Right. You’ve just won more money than you’ll ever need in your life. Your grandkids won’t have to work a day in their lives. You’re clearly a lucky person.

So why not try your luck again? At €2.50 a ticket, it seems like a fairly foolproof plan to us.

Six months rent in a two-bedroom apartment in Dublin city centre

Sorry, we had to. If we didn’t make jokes about it, we’d just cry.
