Events taking place around Ireland to mark World Buckfast Day this weekend

Paul Moore

Buckfast

For anyone that loves their Bucky.

When it comes to coining unique days of celebration, Ireland is in a league of its own.

For example, we’ve had Arthur’s Day, Donegal Tuesday, and Mayo Monday – yes, that is a thing – but the good people at Buckfast have their own contender.

Just like last year, Buckfast drinkers around the world will be able to celebrate the nectar of the gods when World Buckfast Day arrives.

Yes, the Champions Cup Final isn’t the only big event taking place this Saturday and to mark the event, The Bernard Shaw in Dublin will be serving cocktails and a “bottomless Buckfast brunch”.

They’re also hosting a Buckfast Quiz for anyone that might be a connoisseur on the drink.

Events will also be taking place at numerous venues around Ireland including shindigs at Caribou (Galway), Fred Zeppelins (Cork), Halo (Ballycastle in Antrim), J.D Tipler (Portadown in Armagh), Pizza Punks (Belfast), Ryans Bar (Belfast), The Goats Toe, Betty Blacks (both Bangor in Down) and Eatyard (Dublin).

If you’re living abroad, you’ll be pleased to know that Buckfast Day is international and there will be events taking place all over the globe.

What a time to be alive!
