We've already been battered by Abigail, Barney, Clodagh, Desmond (who inspired this to give him some credit), Eva and now Storm Frank who is causing all sorts of problems today. Met Éireann's decision to team up with the UK Met Office and give all winter storms pre-ordained monikers has made these previously nameless storms more relatable and that bit more easy to curse when they f**k up your premises or flood your home. All the names have been chosen by members of the public and they all seem to fit the bill. So stand by for: Gertrude Henry Imogen Jake Katie Lawrence Mary Nigel Orla Phil Rhonda Steve Tegan (how much better would Teresa have been?) Vernon Wendy Pic via Met.ie So no Quentin, Ultan, Xavier, Yves or Zara to worry about but Gertrude already sounds like a right wagon.
