Tying your own shoelaces? Ain’t nobody got time for that…
Here at JOE HQ we’ve already started writing our Christmas letter to Santa following the news that Nike are possibly going to release Marty McFly’s (Michael J. Fox) self-tying power lace shoes from Back To The Future 2. That’ll brilliantly save us a whopping 8 seconds in the morning, as well as automatically making us the coolest cat in town.
That’s right, the coolest cat. Who also happens to have a shoe collection that looks just like Marty McFly’s…
Following on from the limited edition release of 1500 pairs of the Nike MAG replica in 2011, Tinker Hadfield, a shoe designer for the sports giant (and the man with the greatest name ever), gave the following excited response when quizzed about the possibility of seeing power laces next year; “Are we gonna see power laces in 2015? To that, I say YES!”
According to Sole Collector, the designer was speaking at an event at the Jordan Brand Flight Lab in New Orleans when he revealed the fantastic futuristic footwear news and, in a brilliant case of life aptly imitating art, 2015 is actually the year from the film that McFly bags himself a super pair of self-lacing shoes.
There’s still no sign of Max Spielberg’s Jaws 19 though…
